Art Clay Silver Senior Instructor
Thank you for coming to my website.
I teach metal clay classes from beginner through certification
classes.
Every couple of months, on a
Sunday, I invite you to join me for a Free Day of fun and information. Free Day
starts at 1:30 pm and ends .... (whenever). Each Free Day has a demonstration of
something new or different that will enhance your silver clay projects.
Demonstrations begin at 2:00 and usually last between one to two hours. Free Day
is helpful for individuals who are trying to decide if metal clay is what they
are looking for. It is also a good time for students to ask each other for
advice and help with a project. Some students bring their unfinished projects
with them and work while visiting. If you do not have
a kiln, most projects can be fired while you are visiting.

So what is Silver Art Clay?
Silver Art Clay is a pure silver material in clay form. It is water-based and
can be freely modeled like clay. It is made of finely powdered pure silver,
water and a non-toxic organic binder. After it is shaped, dried and heated in a
kiln or fired with a torch, water and binding agents burn off, leaving only pure
silver retaining its modeled shape. Silver Art Clay comes in several forms
including clay, paste, syringe and paper type. This is a very easy medium to
work with and you can create one of a kind silver pieces. You do not need to
purchase many special tools but the clay will need to be fired. There are
special kilns that have been created just for the silver clay.
For those who do not want to fire the pieces themselves, there are firing
stations available. Please select the Firing Stations Button located in the
navigation section or
.
