Learn the Basics Weekend

In this class you will learn how to work with the
metal clay paste, syringe, and clay. You will learn the techniques
to make several projects. There are $250 worth of supplies that are
included in the price of the class that will be used to complete the

3-Day Art Clay Silver Certification Class
Price $500.00 which includes supplies
In this class you will learn how to use the paste,
syringe, clay, cork clay, mix glass cabochons with the silver, how to
use the overlay paste on porcelain, how to set stones before firing and
after firing with a setting. You will also learn how to create texture
with the paste, how to get a mirror finish, how to twist and braid slow
dry clay, place a pin backing on your project before firing, how to make
both a round band and a flat band ring. Once you are certified to teach,
you will also receive a 35% discount on the Art Clay Silver. If you
have previously taken Learn the Basics Weekend there is a discount for
this class.
Ring Day
$125.00
In this class I will demonstrate how to make
several
rings including a rolled
band ring and a flat band ring. You will also learn how to adjust the
size you make to allow for the shrinkage of the clay, how to work with a
ring mandrel, how to ‘set’ stones without a setting prior to firing as
well as how to use a snap-set,
securing ring joints and adding syringe embellishments. Prerequisite for
this class - Learn the Basics Class.
Enameling
If you have read that silver is not a good option
for enameling, it is because of the alloys that are added to find silver
to make sterling that does not work well with the enameling process.
However, fine silver works very well with the enameling process. Metal
clay is .999 fine silver.
